I continued to engage in teaching activities as a visiting lecturer of Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (https://www.kdu.ac.lk/) and Defence Services Command and Staff College (https://dscsc.lk/) and in my tenure as Head of the Dept. of Electrical, Electronic and Telecom. Engineering. Subsequent industry experience in Virtusa https://www.virtusa.com/ as a project/account manger and information security manager and a spell at WSO2 as a Director of Engineering https://wso2.com, enabled me to excel in business domain too. Even then, I kept my academic interest alive by teaching at Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (MSc in MIS) and as an adjunct lecturer of Curtin University by teaching Cyber Security (MSc) at Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (https://www.sliit.lk/). I joined Military Technological College of Oman in 2013, that was a new college then, as the Deputy Head of Marine Engineering. This new appointment enabled me to apply and contribute while learning new things. As the procurement representative of the Dean, I contributed towards development of laboratory and workshop facilities and as the Deputy Head of Marine Engineering, to develop academic programmes and modules to meet the Academic standards of QAA of UK https://www.qaa.ac.uk/. As the Academic Contact for the University of Portmouth (https://www.port.ac.uk/) and with the additional appointment as the Head of Examinations, I am now playing a leading role in the college to ensure academic standards and quality objectives with respect to examinations and assessments are met. Today, programmes offered by the MTC are accredited by Professional Engineering Institutes of UK. These includes IMechE, IET, IMarEST, RAeS, ICE and RICS which is a great achievement for a new college such as ours and I am proud to be a significant contributing partner towards this. I love programming. I have now developed the examinations and assessment portal of the college.
